Apple has announced the winners of its Swift Student Challenge, awarding 350 young developers with AirPods Max headphones, an official certificate, and a complimentary one-year subscription to the Apple Developer Program. The challenge, held annually, aims to motivate students to hone their coding skills and compete for exciting prizes. Eligible participants are those over the age of 13, enrolled in an educational institution or a homeschool equivalent, and not working as full-time developers.
Notices of victory have been sent via email, with Apple's Senior Director of Worldwide Developer Marketing, Esther Hare, broadcasting the achievements on Twitter. Winners can also verify their status through their developer accounts. This year marks the introduction of 50 Distinguished Winners, a new category whose specifics and additional rewards remain undisclosed by Apple.
In a departure from previous years where AirPods Pro were given, this year's laureates received the higher-end AirPods Max. The reward package also includes an official certificate from Apple, a year's membership in the Developer Program at no cost, the opportunity to take the Swift certification exam, and an invitation to attend the WWDC event in person.
